We opened the school year by serving significantly more meals in resident dining than previous year. Despite this our composting/waste numbers remain nuetral. A focus has been placed in training new employees and students on composting practices. Other potential areas to add to the initaitive are being discussed presently.

Penn State Erie, the Behrend College.
We are doing well with composting and have collected 4,531 lbs. of organic waste to add to our compost pile by the end of September. We continue to work with our Housing and Food service and with Maintenance and Operations which is a huge help.
We also have a Waste Not program in place and send our totals in to FRN. Since September 15 when we got organized and started, we have donated 324 lbs. of food to the Erie City Mission. I have a work study student who helps me organize school clubs to deliver food, record the date and keep things organized.
